Representative Gila Garcia of Bataan’s 3rd Congressional District said on Tuesday, Feb. 18 that local farmers should be rest assured that they would expect improved food production and that safety measures are being taken care both for farmers and consumers.
In her statement on social media, the lady solon said agricultural programs being undertaken in Bataan undergo careful study and extensive research to dig deeper into the problems raised by farmers.
Cong. Garcia, together with Australian Center for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) officials led by Dr. Fay Rola Rubzen, University of Western Australia Deputy Director, held a consultation meeting to discuss the present state of good agricultural practices in Bataan. It was also aimed at exploring future challenges faced by local farmers with emphasis on possible solution that would redound to a more improved food production and high quality products.
The group visited one of 1Bataan Farms located in Barangay Tucop, Dinalupihan where farm operator Brian Piquero briefed the group on the process of 1Bataan Drip Fertigation System which had been yielding good results.
“Our agricultural programs undergo extensive research,” Garcia said.
