The Peninsula Electric Cooperative, Inc. (PENELCO), in partnership with Green Roof, Norfund, and Solana Solar, held on April 11, 2025, the groundbreaking ceremony for the upcoming Solana Solar Beta Solar Power Project in Brgy. Balsik, Hermosa.

Said renewable energy project aims to deliver 22.785 MWp of clean and sustainable power—a significant milestone in realizing Bataan’s vision for a cleaner and more sustainable renewable energy future that supports the province’s economic development.

Beyond promoting sustainability, these partnerships also create new opportunities for the community of Brgy. Balsik, ultimately contributing to improving the quality of life of all Bataeños.

Present at the said event were GM Ellaine S. De Guzman, Green Roof CEO Rob Santler, Senior Investment Manager, Renewable Energy of Norfund Felix Barwinek, Solana Solar President Gian Valerio, and representatives from the local government unit of Hermosa.
