Bataan to recognize farmers and fisherfolk every 3rd Week of May

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) ng Bataan, passed an ordinance declaring the third week of May each year as a special week to honor and recognize the farmers and fisherfolk in the province.

Known as the “Bataan Farmers’ and Fisherfolk’s Week Ordinance,” it aims to support and empower those in the agriculture and fisheries sectors by providing better access to technology, research, financial assistance, and marketing programs.

The ordinance also encourages the active participation of farmers and fisherfolks in government planning and development.

The celebration will feature various activities and programs to acknowledge their vital role and promote their well-being.
The ordinance was authored by Board Member Popoy Del Rosario.
