Congressman Albert S. Garcia had an opportunity to present one of his major initiatives, the Manila Bay Integrated Flood Control, Coastal Defense and Expressway Project (MBIFCCDEP), in a key meeting last April 21, 2025.

Said project aims to minimize the risk of flooding and strengthen coastal resilience by constructing a coastal road-dike that will serve a dual purpose—a roadway to improve traffic flow and a barrier to protect against flooding.

Furthermore, Cong. Abet highlighted broader benefits of the project not only for the province of Bataan, but also for neighboring provinces such as Pampanga and Bulacan, as well as the City of Manila. The benefits include traffic decongestion and promotion of marine aquaculture, both of which will help in boosting the local livelihoods and sustainable development.

The aforementioned meeting marks the first of many aimed at realizing the project, which prioritizes the people’s safety and continuous progress.
