The Office of the Vice Governor (OVG), under Vice Governor Ma. Cristina Garcia, will soon be providing free teletherapy services to persons with disabilities (PWDs) after forging a partnership with the Rehabilitation and Empowerment of Adults and Children with Handicap (REACH) Foundation.
Last April 28, a Memorandum of Agreement was signed at The Bunker in Balanga City by Vice Governor Garcia, Governor Jose Enrique S. Garcia III, and REACH Foundation President and Executive Director Abelardo Apollo David Jr., formally establishing the partnership.
Under the agreement, the OVG, together with the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), will implement a service package from the REACH Foundation which will include online sessions for physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology. The program aims to make rehabilitative services more accessible especially for individuals in remote or underserved areas.
Also included in the package are free educational programs and webinars designed to guide family members in supporting the therapy needs of their loved ones.
The program is expected to roll out by August this year, with priority given to beneficiaries identified through a selection and screening process to be outlined in the implementation guidelines currently being finalized.
This initiative is part of the provincial government’s broader commitment to delivering inclusive, responsive, and technology-driven services across all sectors of the community.
