Police Colonel Marites A. Salvadora, officer-in-charge of office of the Provincial Director of Bataan Provincial Police Office, describes Bataan province as a relatively peaceful place to live in.
Col. Salvadora replaced Col. Palmer Tria who was assigned to Camp Olivas PNP Regional Office. Barely a month in office at Camp Tolentino police headquarters, Col. Salvadora has already made a round of the province’s 11 towns and one city.
Her visit to the province’s police stations gave her some good ideas on steps to take to further improve police service and to translate the PNP slogan “To Serve and Protect” to action.
Based on her findings and reports from the field and local COMELEC office, Col. Salvadora shared that the local PNP command has already identified “areas of concern” in so far as the forthcoming midterm elections are concerned.
She identified the towns of Mariveles and Limay as the areas being closely monitored because of intense political rivalry and on account of previous fierce campaign scenario.
As to the issue of reshuffling police chiefs, those with good performance will stay. “The merit should always be based on their level of performance,” the OIC police director added.
