Under the strong leadership of Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) President Ruby Santos Matibag, the university achieved another milestone in the April 2025 Licensure Examination for Midwives garnering a 100 percent passing rate and capturing Top 1, Top 4, and Top 7 examinees ranking spots.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) ranked BPSU as the top performing school in the recent exams. President Matibag, who also serves as concurrent Dean of the College of Midwifery, was lauded for her commitment to academic excellence and student success.
BPSU Vice President for Research, Extension, and Technology Transfer Monica Hipolito, praised Matibag’s leadership as the driving force behind BPSU’s consistent performance in board exams. “President Matibag has vision to make BPSU College of Midwifery great. What we’re seeing now is the fruit of that dedication,” Hipolito said.
Rona Marie V. Ramos emerged as Top 1 with a rating of 92.60 percent. Joining her in the Top 10 were Arian R. Villaganes (Top 4) with a score of 92.25 percent and Roberto A. Sibugan Jr. (Top 7) with a score of 91.95 percent.
“Our professors were with us every step of the way. They helped us process every requirement and supported us emotionally,” said BPSU BS Midwifery board passers.
PRC reported that only 1,975 out of 3,444 examinees passed the April 2025 Midwife Licensure Exam, a national passing rate of 57.35 percent.
