A coastal road that acts as flood control infrastructure and at the same time mitigates traffic jam more particularly in Metro Manila?
Why not, if the proposed Manila Bay Integrated Flood Control, Coastal Defense and Expressway Project (MBIFCCDEP) would push through, according to Bataan 2nd District Congressman Abet Garcia who brought up the matter in a recent meeting.
Congressman Garcia recently met with officials of Department of Public Works and Highways, Atty. Jay Peralta, Public Private Partnership director, Ma. Cynthia Hernandez, Nerissa Esguerra, of NEDA, and department heads of Bataan provincial government.
As envisioned by the Bataan lawmaker, the MBIFCCDEP will mitigate the hazardous flood to ensure coastal resilience in the region through the coastal road-dike which will serve as a road to block floodwaters.
The project, Garcia said, will benefit nearby provinces of Pampanga, Bulacan, and the National Capital Region as it will decongest traffic and promote safety to motorists.I
